    Álvaro is a researcher in Guatemala at the CELE Legislative Observatory. He is a lawyer and has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a specialization in Comparative and International Law from Columbia University. He is a founding partner of the law firm "Consortium Legal". He participated as an ad hoc judge in the case “Tiu Tojín vs. Guatemala ”before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. He was Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Rafael Landívar University.
