This document presents the most outstanding conclusions of the study of legislative activity with an impact on freedom of expression in the last twenty years in Colombia. Specifically, laws enacted since 1997 and other bills since 2012 were studied. The legislative trend favors the restriction on the promotion of freedom of expression. The article presents the main issues that produce norms with an impact on freedom of expression in Colombia. In addition, it highlights the most relevant points of the regulation of this right on the internet and of the Peace Agreement signed in 2016.
