The Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information of the University of Palermo calls on interested researchers to join a research project on the digital rights movement in Latin America. The profile we are looking for is a person with knowledge of sociology in general and social movements in particular and qualitative and quantitative techniques of social research. Previous participation in similar research projects and experience in social network analysis will be especially valued. RESEARCH ASSISTANT
From the Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information (CELE) we are looking for two research assistants for the Regional Legislative Observatory project. CELE is an academic center dedicated to the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of expression and access to information. As such, it develops research aimed at enriching public debate and training, training and reflection activities on this matter.
The Observatory aims to monitor the impact of the debate around internet regulation on freedom of expression. In addition, it aims to systematize and facilitate access to laws and bills that affect freedom of expression at the regional level; monitor legislative developments over time in order to detect trends; provide an independent evaluation of the laws and bills under the standards and the test proposed by the Inter-American Human Rights System.
From CELE we offer an open, plural and international work group with opportunities for development and growth as well as the possibility of working with leaders in the area.
Requirements for the position:
- Last year of the degree or recent graduates of the law, political science, communication, international relations and journalism majors.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written level) and sensitivity to work with diverse and plural people.
- Good level of English.
- Have access to a computer and the Internet.
- Previous research experience, participation in moot court competitions (desirable)
